There are more than 37 million American adults living with diabetes and one in four do not know they have it. Additionally, an estimated 96 million U.S. adults—more than one in three—have prediabetes, and more than eight in ten of them don’t know they have it.
Preventing the onset of diabetes is one way to protect your eye health. Anyone with diabetes is at risk for diabetes-related eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and macular edema, as well as glaucoma and cataracts.
